ITINERARY: VARIGOTTI – TRAIL BALCONE SUL MARE – VARIGOTTI
By car (from Finale Ligure’s train station FF SS): you take the national road Aurelia (Strada Statale 1) towards Varigotti (direction: Savona). Go through Varigotti for about 1 Km and park your car in the big parking area next to the street “Strada Vecchia”.

The trail is well signaled and easily walkable. The first stretch goes up steeply
The trail starts from the intersection of the street “Strada Vecchia” with “Strada degli Ulivi”.
It starts going up for 500 m among the olive tree groves that are typical of this area and it reaches a barrier that blocks the passage of the bikes.
At this point, you turn right and you walk by a Madonna placed into a little cave (on your left hand side) and you continue for 100 meters to run into an important fork where you have to turn right going up the hill. This stretch of the trail offers great views over the coastline (it’s also very popular among the bikers and we recommend you to pay attention).
After other 600 m you are going to run into a new fork: ignore the deviation and keep going (right hand side) on the main trail. Here the trail mark changes.

The trail goes on for more than 400 m to reach a new fork that you have to ignore (it’s a biking trail from the Enduro Worlds Series called PS4-DH MAN). Keep going down the hill to reach the connection with the famous trail “Sentiero del Pellegrino”. He trail mark changes again.

Turn right and overstep the deviation (on your left side) for the church of “San Lorenzo” and join the paved road “Strada Vecchia”. Walk by this street for 350 m to finally return to the starting point.
